It started out at the Austin airport all blurry eyed and yawning. We had been flying Southwest airlines a lot this summer. It seemed like a luxury not to have to pay for bags, so we figured what the hell, we will go ahead and check four bags just cause. Pretty much without fail I get stuck sitting by a screamer, yeller, crier or seat kicker. I have perfected my Mother’s “you betta stop” look and can scare some children into a short reprieve in their antics. We got off the plane and God-Des wanted coffee, a common occurrence. She had a slight smirk on her face that she gets when she thinks she has a great idea. She looks at me and says, “Man homie, we should get Reina to take us to Pike Street Market so we can buy some of those jumbo sized King Crab Legs.” And crab by the way, is one thing that we can both agree on. I think she is a little crazy cause we are staying in a hotel and how the hell are we gonna cook up some crab legs? Plus, we don’t even know this girl. But sure enough, we get in the car and God-Des says to Reina, (our ride and the person who booked us) ” Hey man, can you take us to the market and let us cook crab legs at your house??!” haha. Luckily, Reina was a hella laid back and chill chick and was all like, “hell yeah no problem.” So we stop, park, and walk out into this super sunny perfect day along the market in the state we both were born. Well I was born outside of Seattle in the air force base in Tacoma and God-Des was actually born in Seattle. But I think it’s weird we were both born there and as babies went back to the Midwest. Anyway, back to the story.

It’s just the prettiest day all sunny and “hot” for Seattle. Living in Austin now I am laughing at what they call hot, but it just couldn’t be prettier. We spend a bunch of money on crab legs and we couldn’t be happier about it. If fact, we spent $80 on crab for only three people. The two-hour drive North to Bellingham gives us a chance to get to know Reina. God-Des is great at asking questions and getting to know folks. I’m in the back seat looking at some trash magazines people leave on the plane (I always scan the seat pockets on the way out of the plane to see what magazines and books people leave behind). But I am listening as well and enjoying how beautiful the drive is. There is so much green and the sky is one of the bluest I have ever seen. Reina’s Ipod is very mixed and making us really happy. Impressive for a younger person. We get to her house and meet her really cute dogs. She keeps apologizing for the older one smelling, but he was really cute and entirely forgiven. We boil up some red, purple and white potatoes and make a salad. And last but certainly not least, we make the crab. It was so fresh and off the chain, we were all smiley and content. None of us said a word to each other during the meal because it was THAT GOOD! Then we went to the hotel to check in. This part was really cute. We get there and they had balloons, a fruit plate, water, a RAINBOW bottle of absolute that God-des starts freaking out about, and Hershey’s kisses in the shape of a heart. It was all very cute and sweet. We loved it!

The next day we decided to go have lunch on the water before the show. This gruff older dude cab driver was in charge of getting us around. His name was Greg. He was one of those dudes when you break through their hard shell you find a soft teddy bear center. He took us to the water and we ate at this cafe outside. They were having some sort of fishing award show with these two dudes announcing sizes of fish and who won what. They were sooooooo monotone, boring, and serious that it actually became comical. It was suuuch a pretty day and it just felt so good to be outside in the sun. The highlight was this English bulldog puppy named George who was maybe the cutest thing I had ever seen. Greg picks us back up and we go to the hotel to freshen up and get ready for the show. We got to the gig and met up with this Woman who saw us at Portland Pride and really was touched by our song, “Stand Up”. She said she wanted to use that song for a Pepsi grant she was trying to get. She was really sweet and had really great energy. She explained to us that she wanted to start a Women’s Center in Portland called Tenacious Spirit. It will be a place where women can get help and services in all aspects of life. It sounded like a really cool idea to us so we decided to get behind her and let her use the song. We even did some shout out’s on film for it. We wish her the best and will be calling on YOU, our fans, when the time is right to vote for her. It is important that we get the community together to stand up for things that will make our world a better place. I will be following up with links and ways to vote soon.

The show that day was really fun and the crowd was showing love like crazy. In the front row were 2 of the cutest little boys ever. They were acting a little shy but I could tell they were excited to see us. We took pictures with them and I will be posting them on here so you can see them. Their two moms bought a couple Cd’s and a t-shirt but I gave God-Des a look and we decided to give each of them their own “Three” record for free, because it doesn’t have any curse words. Bellingham showed us mad love. What a great crowd. What a fun show. I guess I will end with a message sent to us from the mom of the two little boys we gave the CD’s too. It’s to cute not to share….

“ I have to tell you, as soon as we got home they boys jumped out of the car to tell all their little kid friends, and our adult friends around us, that they got these cool cds, as they flashed them in everyone’s face, they said they actually got to meet you guys and heard you in person, and that you guys where the most awsomest and the best ever…They where so excited and so proud, it was so frigging cute, thank you..
Ps. If they’re bad I use the cd’s to keep them in line, they’ve lost them once for the day, and they just about had a break down over it…..We had so much fun, and they absolutely had a blast and loved you guys, thank you so much….Peace”
